Scenic order
of events in Play “untold last wish…if told?” (Mission to be completed):
Scene: jail.
1.
“All
is well” – watch guard’s caution hears ( echoed by other guard) -3 times
2.
Song
‘kalada gante nudiyutide’ stanza 1 will be heard.
3.
Judge,
prosecutor (lawyer), jailor, hangman and scriptwriter (convict) enters and
takes their respective positions).
4.
Judge
repeats the verdict and asks doctor to check convicts health and record, and
got it signed.
5.
Doctor
checks convict and report all is o.k.
6.
Judge
signals it is prayer time and asks why priest has not come.
7.
Jailor
informs he is on leave and system allows it.
8.
Judge
decides to make alternate arrangement and deputes doctor to act as proxy priest
and report.
9.
Doctor
start acting as priest, and make convict to touch religious books (though
convict is reluctant) and starts praying on behalf of convict and report
to judge that job of priest completed.
10.
Judge
informs convict about the provision of telling last wish available for him and
orders jailor to conduct that ritual.
11.
Jailor
signals hangman to get ready with poison bowl and starts ritual by asking ‘what
is your last wish’.
12.
Judge
announces ‘first chance’...
13.
Convict
remains silent... (Humming of song gradually begins)...
14.
Hang
man administer 1st drop of poison to convict...
15.
Jailor
reports to judge (non verbal)...
16.
Judge
signals doctor to check the health and report...
17.
Doctor
checks and reports.
18.
Jailor
announce “what is your last wish’...
19.
Judge
announces “second chance”...
20.
Convict
remains silent...(humming of song becomes louder)
21.
Hangman
administers 2nd drop of poison to convict.
22.
Jailor reports to Judge (non-verbal).
23.
Judge
signals doctor to check the health and report...
24.
Doctor
checks and reports.
25.
Jailor
announce “what is your last wish’...
26.
Judge
announce “last chance”
27.
Convict remains silent.
28.
Judge insists...
29.
Convict breaks his silence and
justifies his silence… (Interactive time with actors and audience… clue sentence ‘do you want to know my last
wish?’… Some actors who are installed in auditorium agree to participate in his
new system…)
30.
2nd stanza of the song heard.
31.
Convict
controls the situation… ( clue – “now onwards it is not jail on the contrary it
is social counseling centre dedicated to Chavara and the persons will come here
voluntarily and express their guilt and get consoled.)
32.
Back
drop changes… jail bars will be replaced by the photographs of Jesus, Galileo, Socrates,
Abraham Lincoln and Gandhi… Chavara’s tableau will be presented with the
background of song’s humming.
33.
Judge confesses his guilt to convict and
demands punishment.
34.
Convict ask him to do counselors work as
punishment. ( costumes of actors will be changed in a dramatic form)
35.
Prosecutor
confesses her guilt and demands punishment.
36.
Convict
ask him to do co-counselors work as punishment. ( costumes of actors will be
changed in a dramatic form)
37.
Jailor
confesses his guilt for harassing him in jail and demands punishment.
38.
Convict gives him option either to remain here
as documenter or to outside and do jobs according to his wish.
39.
Jailor agrees to do work as documenter.
40.
Doctor confesses her guilt for not giving
whole hearted dedication towards caring patient convicts and demands
punishment.
41.
Convict
gives doctor to works whole heartedly in the counseling centre as punishment.
42.
Doctor
agrees
43.
Hangman
confesses his guilt of having selfish attitudes and asks punishment.
44.
Convict
ask him to do the work of helper in the counseling centre.
45.
Convict announces to audience that this setup
is the first phase of his last wish.
46.
A
tableau of tribal people way of counseling will be depicted.
47.
Counselor
takes charge of situation by starting proceedings.
48.
All
except convict prays in the name of humanity… third stanza of song will be
heard.
49.
Counselor
asks audience that is there any person among them came here to confess their
guilt and to demand punishment
50.
Some
prepared actors stands up and tells about their existence.
51.
Counselor
asks helper to issue tokens.
52.
Before
hangman nodes, crowd among audience reacts that they had taken tokens already.
53.
Co-counselor
informs them about the arrangements of refreshment and requests them to have.
54.
Token
holders refuse and ask the proceedings to be started.
55.
Counselor
agrees and starts proceedings.
56.

Convict
asks audience that his last wish is to continue this new system and request
audience to become active participators ( clue- those who wants to be in new
system or not he puts this issues for voting)
66.
New
system voters are requested to follow him and he starts walking towards auditorium
gate.
67.
Knowing
his already poison taken pathetic condition, stage actors and auditorium actors
carries him on their shoulders and converts this activity as procession with
the background music.
